Rannoch in BLOOM Meeting
Rannoch Village Hall
Monday May 21st
Present: J Dunnigan, L Hunter, N Hunter, G Duncan.
Apologies : A Dunlop, Cllr M Williamson .
The minutes of the meeting on April 16th were accepted . Proposed by J Dunnigan and seconded by G Duncan.
J Dunnigan and N Hunter gave an update on the progress to date on various tasks that had been undertaken, completed or in progress since the meeting in April. See Actions and proposals below
Matters Arising.
PKC have been in contact with the owner of the Bunrannoch hotel site and have instructed them to make it more presentable... no further action has yet been undertaken. Cllr M Williamson offered to get the latest status on this request. Action item still open
Utilising of the toilet block as a community asset...delays have been encountered and a meeting is in the process of being organised for early April between Z Gamble and B Reekie of PKC. Meeting was held on April 17th separately with B Reekie and Z Gamble due to inclement weather conditions. The outcome was to move forward with an amended proposal ( DDA requirements would be very costly and make the original project unviable) It is proposed to site interpretation boards / information panels on the stone boundary wall in front of the toilet block. This will have the additional benefit of screening the view of the toilet block.
Summer Planting
Plants on order and will be available to plant late May / early June depending on weather conditions.

Paint railings in village square Due to be painted by Goodrich volunteers June 13th
Paint large tubs in Village square Target date May 22nd
Diamond Jubilee specific project... tree planting... Permission granted for small area in the Park.
Treasurer’s Report
L Hunter reported that the Rannoch in BLOOM the current account stands at £586 credit with cash on hand of £7.54 with an outstanding bill of £13 for Hall rental and membership of TPiP £1 that have not yet passed through the books.
Funding
No further donations received since April.
Take Pride in Perthshire have allocated RiB with £150 for plants and we have applied for £150 grant for admin costs etc from PKC.
G Duncan has offered bedding plants.
Correspondence
PKC had sent a letter confirming that RiB has free access to 5 trailer full loads of compost.

It was noted that B Henderson was writing an article for the Comment on Line on the former Bunrannoch Hotel site.

Clean up, repair tubs in Village square.
Plant daffodils bulbs at village entrances when appropriate
Cleanup (or get PKC to clean up) dilapidated toilet block
Use an old boat filled with soil and plantings at strategic position in village
Get free compost from PKC
Repair walls into the Village
Stonework signs at entrance of village
Get owners of Bunrannoch hotel site to tidy it up.......

Put up signs to indicate NO OVERNIGHT PARKING by the beach adjacent to the War Memorial.
Use “Muck bucket inside the tubs as a liner, to ensure easy removal for seasonal planting.
Plough an area of land next to disused picnic area, adjacent to the water gates and plant wild flower seeds.
Repeat ploughing and wild flower planting at Loch side near the War Memorial.
Create Flower garden between old petrol pumps and Dunalaster hotel.
Seek help from the BBC Beechgrove garden.

Themed sculptures that represent Rannoch...cycling, boating , fishing etc

Create a more visually pleasing entrance to the village at the “ Parking Area” by the river.
Re-establish the Riverside path east of the bridge running from the toilet block to link up with current path network.

Consideration should be given to the creation of a viewpoint at the head of the Loch at the sharp right hand bend as you exit the village on route to the Timeshare and McDonald’s hotel.
